Mission Statement

Walton Lane Nursery School will provide the best environment in which to develop our pupils' cultural awareness, emotional understanding, intellect, physical and social skills.  The happiness, well being and education of each child is of utmost importance to the staff, after all it is why we are here.

Everyone in school is encouraged to develop to his or her full academic and creative potential, and to think, question discuss and evaluate.

The school promotes personal and social development.  Everyone is encouraged to join in a wide variety of experiences in addition to those associated with the school.  The pursuit of ideals and qualities such as enthusiasm is encouraged.

Cooperation and care for others is fostered.  Everyone is encouraged to explore his or her responsibilities within the school.

The school is staffed and resourced with this in mind, and the curriculum is planned to offer the widest possible range of opportunities.  Constructive parental involvement in the life of the school is encouraged and all parents are welcome to contact and visit the school as they wish.

School Sessions

A.M. Sessions 08.45 - 11.15
P.M. Sessions 12.45 - 15.15

Qualified Staff

We maintain a ratio of one member of staff for every 10 (ten) pupils.  Teaching qualifications range from degree level to a minimum of NNEB standard.  We also act as a placement center for trainee teachers and nursery nurses.

Sometimes a child needs extra help...

At Walton Lane Nursery School the child with special needs will have the opportunity to develop intellectually and to build upon the social skills necessary to function independently alongside his or her friends, with the additional support of a qualified special needs nursery nurse.

See our special section on Special Needs

School Brochure

We hope to bring you the full school brochure soon but if you require to peruse this at the moment it is available in the school foyer.

Ofsted Report

In general, the "Quality of Teaching Score" in an inspection report is an excellent comparative guide to the standard of education delivered by that establishment.  As Walton Lane Nursery Lane School is an LEA maintained school it is inspected under Section 9/10 regulations of the Education (Schools) Act, 1992.  This is a much more rigorous standard than

Quality of teaching

Percentage of teaching observed which is :

Very good or better 87
Satisfactory or better 100
Less than satisfactory 0

See our Ofsted Report here.
